Half my heart resides in my chest. The other half is in the water. Since childhood, I have been drawn to the ocean. Coming from a lineage of watermen, I credit molecular memory.
Inspired by Nature and it’s divine patterns, my work is heavily influenced by the ocean and coastal landscape. Wild and dangerous, peaceful and safe - that juxtaposition is what I tuck inside each of my paintings.
With regular visits (never enough) between the Outer Banks of North Carolina and the lush Pacific Northwest, I am settled into the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and I’m endlessly inspired. Wanderlust is always whispering - whether it’s hitting the road to touch my toes in the salt water or pulling on my boots and trekking into the Shenandoah. Nature keeps me in the studio, immersing myself in memory of place. Each painting is a meandering of memory - an escape to the water, a rocky coastline, a mossy forest, or to the sand.
